My 80′s Double Decker Bus.
Do you know that the first Singapore double decker bus is bus #86 ? In 1977, SBS launched its first double decker buses with 20 Leyland Atlantean. However, during the initial weeks, the public had to be convinced that the buses would not topple during turning. These buses were non air-con but we used to open the windows and let the breeze come in. You don’t get to open the bus windows now, and they’re all sealed up with huge advertisements blocking the scenery. I’ve decided to reminisce this childhood memory in my collection of illustrations, as a tribute to the history of Singapore’s double decker buses.
